Why do the images look blurry or distorted on my screen?
We are aware that some viewers, especially those using
aol, may find the image to be distorted or blurry at times.
This is an issue with aol that we have been unable to
resolve. If you experience fuzzy or unclear images,
please close the site, your browser or your connection and
try again. If you are still having difficulty viewing
the sample images, please contact customer service at
1-413-441-0366. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, we accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover.
How are the single-sided photo cards printed and what type of paper do you use?
At Blue Daisy Greetings, our single-sided photo cards are non-folding, professionally processed, matte photographs, printed exactly like traditional 35mm photos in our pro photo lab. Glossy photo cards are also available upon request. Because they are professionally processed photographs, Blue Daisy cards will have the same quality and long-lasting archival properties as all of your traditional photographs. Photos printed at home or commercially on an inkjet, laser, or photo quality printer often begin to fade and lose their colors and depth within as few as 5 to 10 years. However, your Blue Daisy announcements, invitations and greetings will remain colorful and stable for decades to come. This is very important to us and to our customers since your cards and photos will become cherished mementos. As with any photograph, we recommend storing our cards in acid-free containers or albums, out of direct sunlight and they will last a lifetime! We encourage you to order complimentary samples of our product so that you can see and feel them for yourself.
Do
you print single-sided photo cards on card stock?
No, as stated above, our single-sided photo cards are
professionally processed photographs, printed on photo
paper.
Do you offer folding cards?
We do offer a selection of folding thank you notes, birth
announcements, holiday cards, and greeting cards, in a
choice of glossy or linen cardstock. Please see the folding
note card product pages for more information.
Can my photo card be mounted on cardstock?
We do not provide cardstock, however this is a wonderful
option for those wishing to add a little something extra
to their 4x6 announcements and greetings. Cardstock is
usually available at your local paper supply store and
can often be cut to custom sizes at most copy centers.
Should you decide to mount your cards on 5x7 cardstock,
we would be happy to provide 5x7 envelopes with your order,
upon request.
I read that your standard photo cards are 4"x
6". I would prefer to have cards that are larger
or different in size. Is this possible?
Though 4x6 is our standard size for our single-sided photo
cards, we can make wallet size, 4x5, 5x5, 4x6, 5x7 and
8x10 size photos. We supply envelopes to fit 4x6, 5x5,
and 5x7 cards. We don't recommend mailing 8x10s in regular
envelopes. Please contact t.m.oconnor@verizon.net
for more information.
How
does your pricing work on your single-sided photo cards?
We charge a one-time design fee for each card design ordered
and cards are priced on a per card basis. The design fees
are based on the amount of time it takes to create your
card and are between $5-$8 for our standard styles. More
elaborate styles cost a little bit more since they take
more time to create. However, the per card price never
changes no matter which style you choose. For custom designed
cards, we provide an individual design fee price quote
prior to you placing an order, however most custom design
fees range from $5-$15.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Once we've received your completed order (order form,
photo, and payment), you should receive a proof from your
designer within 1-3 business days (please note that we
are closed evenings, weekends and major holidays). There
is a total in-house processing time of about 5-10 business
days to design and print your cards. This is in addition
to the time it takes to ship your order. On average, orders
ship within a week, depending upon the complexity of the
card, when it was ordered, how quickly a proof is approved,
and the season. With our standard shipping option, your
order will be sent via US Priority Mail (2-4 days, depending
on where you live). For express orders, we use FedEx Express
Overnight. Cards ordered between October and December
typically take slightly longer due to heavy holiday card
business.
Can I see a proof prior to ordering or making my payment?
Due to the amount of time our designers take to design
each card from scratch, we do require a completed order
and payment prior to completing a proof of your card.
For those paying with credit cards on-line, our shopping
cart system bills your credit card as soon as your order
is placed, and our designers begin work on your card layout
after receiving your photos. Unlike many companies from
which you may order products on the internet, we offer
a true graphic design service which requires full payment
prior to providing that service.
Can I see a proof of my card before you print it?
Yes, we prefer that you see and approve a proof prior
to printing. We send a small, low-resolution proof of
your final card design to your email address. If you choose
this option, we will not print your order until you OK
the proof. We suggest you check your email frequently
while awaiting your proof, as it may delay the delivery
of your order if we must wait for a long period of time
for your approval. If you would like to see a proof before
your card is printed, please indicate this in the appropriate
spot on the order form. In addition, once your order has
been completely submitted, we suggest that you check your
email at least two or three times per day so that you
can see and approve your proof as soon as possible. We
will work with you until you are happy with your design
before printing your order.
Tell me about preordering envelopes.
We know that many people like to have have their envelopes
addressed early and ready to go. We will mail your envelopes
early if you order them before placing a card order. If
you are preordering your envelopes before you order your
cards, you simply pay a non-refundable $20 deposit and
shipping. Your $20 will be applied towards your card order.
If you choose not to order cards after the envelopes have
been mailed to you, or if you cancel your card order while
it is being processed, the $20 is not refundable. In addition,
you will be billed for the envelopes at a rate of 14 cents
per envelope. The $20 deposit will be credited towards
this charge. Envelope charges in excess of $20 will be
billed to the credit card used to place your original
order. You may also choose to return the unused envelopes
and avoid the 14 cent per envelope charge. It is important
to let us know what size envelopes you will need.
Do envelopes cost extra?
Our envelopes are included in the price of the cards.
I didn't see a standard style that I liked. Are your
styles customizable?
We create each card based on our customers' specifications.
We can change or add something to one of our standard
styles, create a custom card based on your design, or
create a card similar to one of our custom designs. We
can also edit or retouch your photos to create portraits,
change your photos to black and white or antique, add
custom color tinting, create collages, delete objects
from pictures, cut the subject from the original picture,
and more. Our custom design department can also help you
if you want an unusual size or unique design. Please email
us at t.m.oconnor@verizon.net
for more information on pricing for custom work.
What type of photo editing can (or will) you do on my
photo?
We can usually remove blemishes and repair many imperfections
in your photo, including red-eye and flash reflections.
We often crop and resize your photo based on the card
style that you choose. When ordering your cards you may
choose to have the photo in color, or converted to black
and white or antique finish. These services are all included
in the design fee. For a small extra charge, you also
may choose to have custom color tinting added. This is
an especially nice effect on certain black and white images.
In addition, with our custom design option, our designers
can transform your ordinary photos into extraordinary
images. If you have specific areas of your photo that
you want corrected, edited, excluded or included in the
the final card, please specify that information in the
"Special Information" section of your order
form. Your designer will contact you to discuss prior
to working on your order if your requests may be subject
to an additional design fee. If you want to discuss the
graphic design and photo editing possibilities for your
cards or need pricing information for photo retouching,
please email us at t.m.oconnor@verizon.net.
What if my photo has subjects, people or parts of it
that I don't want included on my cards?
Just let us know what area you'd like cropped from the
photo. You can include this information in the "Special
Information" section of your order form. Or, if you
think it might be confusing, feel free to copy your photo
on a regular black and white copier machine and draw on
it to show us what parts of the photograph to include
or exclude. You may send the photocopy to us along with
the original photo.
What if I need additional cards after I have received
my order?
We archive your final card for 30 days following shipping.
Contact t.m.oconnor@verizon.net
within 30 days if you'd like to purchase additional cards
after your order has been received. After 30 days, we
purge all outdated cards and images from our systems.
What type of photos can I send? Do you accept digital
photos?
You may send processed/printed photographs to our mailing
address. We suggest that you do not send your only copy
of the photograph since we cannot be responsible for the
US Postal Service. We prefer to work with actual photographs,
especially if you choose to have a size larger than our
standard 4x6. Your photo will be returned to you in its
original condition, along with your order. You can also
send high resolution digital photos, but please read the
information regarding digital photos in the "Photography
Tips" section of this page. You may email digital
photos to us at t.m.oconnor@verizon.net.
We do not accept Polaroid photographs or those images
printed on an inkjet, laser, or photo quality printer.
If we do not think that your print or digital photograph
will result in a high quality, high resolution photo or
card, we will let you know. You will then have the option
of providing another photo for us to use. If you choose
to continue with the photo we warned against using, we
will not be responsible for the end results. We will be
unable to uphold our guarantee or remake the cards if
you are unhappy with your order.
Can I send a black and white photo?
We would be happy to work with your high quality, black
and white photo.
Do you have a deadline for ordering December holiday
cards?
We ask that holiday card orders be placed by December
8th. You may order your holiday cards after the December
8th deadline, however, we cannot guarantee the delivery
date.
What happens if I decide to cancel my order?
You may cancel your order at no charge up until the time
your proof is being created, meaning before our designers
have begun working on your cards. You must notify us at
t.m.oconnor@verizon.net
if you choose to cancel your order. Your order is not
considered canceled until we have confirmed the cancellation.
Once we have received your completed order (order form,
photograph, and payment), we will notify you by email
that your order is being processed or we will provide
a proof of your announcement. After sending you this email
or proof, if you choose to cancel your order, there will
be a $15 non-refundable cancellation fee to cover our
costs for the graphic design service you have received.
What happens if I decide to make changes to my order?
You may change your order at no charge up until the time
your order is being processed, meaning before our designers
have begun working on your cards. You must notify us at
t.m.oconnor@verizon.net
if you choose to change your order. Your order is not
considered changed until we have confirmed the change.
Once we have received your completed order (order form,
photograph, and payment), we will notify you by email
that your order is being processed. After sending you
this email or a proof, if you choose to change your order
or photo, you will be charged additional design fees to
cover our costs of recreating another layout. Once the
cards are printed, if you choose to change your order,
you will need to pay an additional design fee, along with
$1.25 per card to cover some of the costs of reprinting.
What if there is a mistake on my cards or order?
We do our absolute best to insure that no mistakes are
made. However, we all know that they sometimes do occur.
If we make a mistake on your cards, we will correct the
mistake and ship you a new set of cards at no charge.
If YOU make a mistake in the spelling or wording on the
order form we will ask that you pay for the cost of correcting
the mistake and reprinting the cards. Therefore, we ask
that you double, even triple, check your wording and spelling
on the order form. In addition, it is helpful to carefully
check your proof when we send it to you, if you choose
this option. If your order is incorrect due to our mistake,
we will correct it immediately.
Can I use a professional portrait or photograph on
my cards?
Professional portraits and photographs remain the property
of the photographer who took the picture. We will gladly
use a professional photograph or portrait if you obtain
written permission from the photographer for us to use
it. You must send us a copy of the signed, written release
or permission form along with your photo or order. It
must specifically grant Blue Daisy Greetings permission
to use and edit the photograph for the purpose of creating
and reproducing your cards. Please email t.m.oconnor@verizon.net
if you need a release form for your photographer. Please
see our terms of service and Copyright
information.
Will you return my photo?
Yes, your original photo will be returned with your completed
order if you include your name and order number on the
back of the photo. Please write gently.
I took several photos of my family, but can't decide
which one to use. Can I send them all to you and let you
decide?
Yes, our designers would be happy to review your photos
and choose the best one for your cards. In this case,
we HIGHLY recommend that you choose the option of seeing
an email proof before having the cards printed. All of
your photos would be returned to you with your completed
order. Please only send photos that you would like to
use on your card, as there is an additional design fee
charge to substitute photos once a proof has been created.
I love the idea of a portrait with color tinting and
antique effects. Is it possible to also order an edited
photo, without text, suitable for framing?
Yes, you can order an edited photo without text. These
can be ordered in wallets, 4x5, 5x5, 4x6, 5x7, or 8x10
size, depending on the size of the subjects in the original
photo. If you want a portrait style photo, along with
your cards, please email us before placing your card order,
since this is not currently in our price list or on our
order form. For more information or a price quote, email
us at t.m.oconnor@verizon.net
What if my proof does not arrive in my email?
Due to recent upgrades in internet and email security,
please take whatever measures are necessary with your
email program in order to allow incoming email from our
company. Remember to also check your spam or junk email
folders. If your proof has not arrived within three full
business days of placing your order, please contact us
and we will resend it.
Do you ship out of the United States?
At this time, we only offer our products and shipping
within the United States. We are currently unable to ship
to APO and AP addresses.
Can the text on the cards be printed in another language?
Yes, if we have access to all the characters or letters
on a standard US keyboard. However, you will need to CAREFULLY
spell out each word and name in the "Text" section
on the order form. In addition, we highly suggest you
choose to have a proof emailed to you for approval prior
to printing.
